About Liz

Founded by Liz Bloomberg, an industry leader with over 20 years experience in the apparel industry, idaks is more than consulting - it's a reflection of a deep commitment to the standard of excellence and brand elevation.

Liz's career began in retail and expanded to the world of wholesale, where she worked hands on in the field as a merchandiser and eventually as a Senior Commercial Leader for North America. Throughout her experience, she has fostered a love for problem solving and a passion for helping businesses grow. Today, that foundation informs her mission: to guide brands toward growth, assortment clarity, and an elevated sell-in experience.

The Story

Started in the Field. Focused on What Moves Product.

idaks grew out of a simple observation: the brands that win in wholesale are the ones with the clearest systems — sharp assortment strategy, consistent sell-in execution, and account relationships built on trust.

After more than twenty years working across the apparel industry — as a brand-side merchandiser, a wholesale buyer, and assortment strategist — I founded idaks to bring that systems-level thinking to brands and their sales teams who are ready to compete more intentionally.

My work spans the full merchandising lifecycle: from assortment planning and product architecture to seasonal sell-in strategy, channel development, and sales rep enablement. Every engagement is built around the specific context of the client — their brand, their channel, their accounts.

I work directly with every client — no handoffs, no junior team, no templates. When you engage with idaks, you get my full attention and my direct thinking on your specific situation.

Expertise

What Sets This Work Apart

Deep Category Expertise

Assortment-building experience across hardgoods, softgoods, footwear, and accessories — from technical alpine gear to lifestyle-driven outdoor apparel.

Both Sides of the Table

I've worked as a brand-side merchandiser and as a wholesale buyer, which means I understand what each side needs from the other — and how to bridge that gap.

Account Relationships

I have established relationships across specialty, regional chain, and big box accounts — from independent shops to national wholesale partners.

Field-Tested Perspective

I've spent years working directly in the field — walking accounts, sitting in line reviews, and understanding what actually drives decisions at the wholesale level.

How I Work

A Few Principles That Guide Every Engagement

01

Honest over comfortable

I tell clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. The outdoor industry is too small for anything less.

02

Systems over one-offs

The goal is always to build something that works without me — a merchandising system, a process, a framework that outlasts the engagement.

03

Specificity over generality

Generic strategy is easy to produce and hard to execute. Everything I deliver is built for your brand, your channel, your customer.
